Support Downtown El Cajon Murals
WE HAVE RAISED!
As a part of Alley Cat Art Fest, the Downtown El Cajon Association, a nonprofit 501c3, is proud to launch the Downtown El Cajon Public Mural Restoration & Expansion Program, a community fundraising initiative dedicated to restoring existing murals and expanding Downtown El Cajon's vibrant public art collection through the creation of new murals.
With more than 15 murals showcasing our community's rich history, scenic landscapes, diverse cultures, and creative spirit, Downtown El Cajon's Arts District has become a destination where art tells the story of our community. We invite you to become part of that story by making a contribution today.
Every dollar raised through this campaign is reinvested directly into public art, mural restoration, and neighborhood beautification projects that enhance Downtown El Cajon for residents, businesses, and visitors alike. Whether you choose to make a one-time gift or become a recurring donor, your support will help preserve our existing murals, inspire new artistic expression, and ensure our community continues to thrive through the power of public art.
Two murals have recently been restored through the generous support of community partners and donors:
- “Bird of Paradise” – Art Alley
Restoration support provided by St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center and Attention Getters. - Olaf Wieghorst “Dean of Western Art” – Olaf Wieghorst Museum
Restoration support provided by the Olaf Wieghorst Museum.
These restoration efforts help preserve Downtown El Cajon’s public art collection, celebrate the community’s cultural heritage, and ensure these important works continue to inspire residents and visitors for years to come.
