Downtown El Cajon Business Partners (DECBP) is a nonprofit 501c6 corporation that manages the Property Business Improvement District (PBID), driven by local property owners and businesses committed to shaping a better downtown. Through a self-funded model, stakeholders invest directly in events, activations, beautification efforts, and more — all aimed at creating a vibrant, welcoming downtown for everyone.

New City America, the urban revitalization firm known for transforming Little Italy and Downtown Chula Vista, was hired by the DECBP  to bring bold improvements to the Downtown El Cajon. Together, they are reimagining public spaces to support property and business owners while enhancing the experience for residents and visitors alike.

Focusing on sustainability and impact, Downtown El Cajon Business Partners is exploring creative ways to update community events and schedules, ensuring they are either revenue-neutral or revenue-generating while benefiting local businesses and stakeholders.
