Homeowners Can Save Energy (and the Planet)

SDG&EIf you are a homeowner, SDG&E has three energy-efficiency programs that can help you save energy and cut your utility expenses. These easy to access programs include rebates on energy efficient appliances and insulation, special financing for home improvements that conserve energy, and free energy-saving improvements for households that meet certain income guidelines.

Home Energy-Efficiency Rebates

If you’re in the market for a new appliance or home improvements, it pays to think about energy efficiency. Energy-efficient products save money by improving overall energy performance in homes. SDG&E has rebates on many of the most popular energy-efficient products that can help you save energy and money for years to come. Click here for information.

Energy Loans for Home Improvements

If you are planning a home improvement or remodel, check out the Energy Loans available through a new affordable loan program. Homeowners are able to finance home energy improvements through the nation's largest source of home mortgage funds, Fannie Mae. The program offers financing for heating and cooling system upgrades as well as other energy improvements. Loans will range from $1,000 to $20,000 with terms of up to ten years. For more information, call ViewTech Financial at 1(888) 502-4222.

Energy Team

The Energy Team program provides FREE energy-saving home improvements, energy education and limited appliance repair/replacement to customers who meet specific income guidelines. For example, a 4-person household qualifies if the gross household income is less than $40,500. All work is to be completed by licensed contractors. Free appliances and improvements include:

  • Refrigerators
  • Low-flow showerheads & faucet aerators
  • Ceiling insulation
  • Caulking and weather-stripping
  • Energy-saving light bulbs
  • Porch light fixtures

For more information, on this program, contact The Energy Team at 1(866) 597-0597 to participate. To find out how you can start saving energy today, check out these websites:
