10th Annual Cajon Classic Cruise Opens Wednesday, June 30

The 2010 Cajon Classic Cruise, Southern California’s largest weekly classic car show, commences Wednesday, June 30, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Main Street in the heart of historic Downtown El Cajon. Admission is free to the Cajon Classic Cruise car show, featuring more than 500 classic, custom and hot rod cars and motorcycles valued at more than $10 million in a street festival setting every Wednesday evening through September 29. Two special post-season car shows will be held, including the Halloween Trunk or Treat show on October 27, and the Parade of Lights Holiday show on December 8.
Always free to the public, the Cajon Classic Cruise is centered on East Main Street at Prescott Promenade, just east of intersection of Main & Magnolia in the heart of Downtown El Cajon. Spreading out over several blocks, thousands of spectators each week stroll El Cajon’s booming historic downtown district while enjoying the cars, the action, restaurants, street vendors, food, DJs, and live entertainment presented amid a vibrant small town atmosphere.
Presented by Sycuan Casino and the El Cajon Community Development Corporation, the Cajon Classic Cruise offers new attractions each week, including awards for the top cars, parades, special salutes, and a variety themed events, like Thunder on Main, National Night Out, and many more. Cajon Classic Cruise will also feature special entertainment, raffles, and much, much more…don’t miss a single week!
Trophies are awarded weekly in several categories and all cars are welcome to enter. Prescott Promenade will be undergoing exciting renovations this spring, so stay tuned for updates about the awards presentation location as we get closer to June 30th. Cajon Classic Cruise Season a Big Success

The 21-week summer season of the 9th Annual Cajon Classic Cruise wrapped up on Wednesday, September 30 with Closing Night festivities. In addition to the usual array of amazing classic cars and trophy winners, photographer Pete Liebig and Charger Steve presented a slideshow featuring highlights from all the great shows this summer. The lucky winner was also drawn for our 1920s vintage gas pump replica (courtesy of PG Series Trucks): Shari Murao of Santee, who is also a dedicated volunteer and avid supporter of the Cajon Classic Cruise 2008Cajon Classic Cruise. Congratulations to Shari and all the raffle prize and trophy winners of the entire season! Thank you for your support of the car shows and the El Cajon CDC.

Our final two shows of 2009 were in October and December. Both full street closure shows from 5:00 - 8:00 pm, the Halloween Trunk or Treat on Wednesday, October 28 featured adults and kids costume contests as well as prizes for best-dressed cars. Car owners and downtown merchants hannded out candy, this was a fun family event! The Parade of Lights on Wednesday, December 9 brought a visit from Santa and the chance for car owners to decorate their cars for a delightful cruise down East Main Street.

The Cajon Classic Cruise features hundreds of classic, custom and hot rod cars as well as "Bike Row" motorcycles in a street festival setting every Wednesday evening from early summer through early fall. Always free of charge to participate and attend, each week features a different theme. Check back in early 2010 for a full listing of weekly spotlighted themes for the 10th season.
