A Toast to Music

Coming in April 2006, A Toast to Music, community leaders, wine connoisseurs, and patrons of the arts enjoy a unique wine tasting event held in the tranquil setting of the East County Performing Arts Center Plaza. An afternoon filled with musical entertainment, wine and beer tasting, local culinary delights and bidding on a silent auction attracts over 30 wineries, 10 restaurants and more than 200 of East County's high profile citizens.

Cajon Classic Cruise

On Wednesday Nites from April 12th - August 30th at the Cajon Classic Cruise, hot rods, muscle cars, classics and motorcycles line the streets of Downtown El Cajon. Start your engines at this extravaganza which attracts over 175,000 attendees and 15,000 cars during the season. As the largest weekly car show in Southern California, the Cajon Classic Cruise attracts car buffs from as far as Arizona and central California. Free to the public, the car show has a street fair flavor and features live music, food and speciality vendors. Anyone may enter a car for a trophy.

Concerts on the Green

On Friday Evenings from June 2nd through September 8th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Concerts on the Green, fans of all ages enjoy the best in local music on the Prescott Promenade. This festival attracts over 12,000 attendees during the season and promises a blend of music, dancing and the delicious offerings of local restaurants — a great time for the whole family. Bring a chair or a blanket to enjoy music in the park.

Movies in the Park

Movies in the Park —On Friday evenings in May, October, November and December, residents enjoy classic films under the stars in the Prescott Promenade. Volunteers monitor the information booth and help with event set-up and tear down. Volunteer Now!

Light Up the Holidays

During the holiday season at Light Up the Holidays, Downtown El Cajon, businesses compete in a holiday decorating contest. Bringing back the days of strolling the Downtown Streets with the family and enjoying the city center is what this event is all about. Finish your holiday shopping or treat yourself to a festive night out.
