The El Cajon CDC Receives a Big Gift
In September of 2007, the El Cajon CDC made a plea for a new truck for the Ambassador program. The 1999 Toyota Tacoma the Ambassadors had been using was breaking down. The driver's side door and window began sticking. Bottom line, the truck was becoming unreliable for the important services the Downtown Ambassadors needed to provide.
Greg and Gary Kaminsky, owners of Toyota of El Cajon came to the rescue. With a history of supporting Downtown El Cajon through a presence at events like the Cajon Classic Cruise, Concerts on the Green, and A Toast to Music, Toyota of El Cajon was ready to take their support to the next level. Without question, Toyota donated the use of a brand new 2007 Toyota Tundra for three years.
"This truck will make a significant difference in our ability to serve the Downtown El Cajon community," said Andrea Simpkins, a Downtown El Cajon Ambassador.
The 2007 Toyota Tundra received a newly redesigned vehicle wrap, printed and applied by Attention Getters Design and sponsored by Executive Health Consultants. The vibrant blue and yellow wrap is designed to be very visible and easily recognizable. And to keep the truck free of dents and dings, Full Metal Jacket of Mission Beach donated a spray-on bed liner.
Our deepest thanks to Toyota of El Cajon, Attention Getters Design, Executive Health Consultants, and Full Metal Jacket for making such a generous donation possible! The new Ambassador truck can be seen patrolling within the boundaries of Downtown El Cajon, so be sure to watch for it. Give a wave or say hello when you see one of our Ambassadors.

How El Cajon CDC Helps Keep Downtown Clean
El Cajon CDC's "Clean Team" is a partnership of St. Madeleine Sophie's Crew to clean up Downtown. Crews respond to the needs of business owners by removing weeds, trash, cigarette butts and other foreign objects from the curbs, gutters, plazas and public property.
A-Force One Power Wash, the official Downtown El Cajon power washing service is making Downtown El Cajon shine. Crews remove trash by pressure washing sidewalks, buildings and awnings.
